JUNE 2008 SENIOR OUTING WITH THE SENIOR PASTOR
CRACKER BARREL
IN WRENTHAM, MA

Thelma E. Hawkins and Rev. G. Steven Ellis

What a great time we had at the June 2008 Cracker Barrel. While riding on the bus, we sang our special community songs. Pastor Steve sang a few gospel songs, and some favorite hymns. Even the bus driver got religious, and joined with us in a few familiar hymns. Marie Bruno sang sounds of yesteryear, and jokes and stories were told in good taste. Rev. Ellis proffered a special prayer for a safe trip, and a good time together going to and from the Cracker Barrel. Several spent some time looking in the gift shop, while others opted for a dessert of cobbler, or apple dumplings. Maria MacKenzie assisted the “Rev.” in chaperoning the group. We are thankful for this time of camaraderie, and good times together in the Lord.

5TH ANNUAL
SIX FLAGS YOUTH
SERVICE & OUTING

Gathering in the sanctuary for the Six Flags Youth Service

On Saturday, June 21, two chartered buses, several vans and cars, left for Six Flags Over New England in Agawam, Massachusetts, following the Youth Six Flags service held at the church. Everyone going to Six Flags was asked to assemble in the church sanctuary, before leaving. The service was non-traditional with the theme "What is Love." Reference was made to Paul’s epistle to the Corinthians on Love. The first of such services was initiated last year, to remind the youth attending Six Flags that this yearly event is not only a church sponsored outing, but also an event in which everyone should practice the values of their Christian faith.

Say Love, did you say it? Come on say it, say love. It is an easily pronounced, non-threatening, one syllable word. What does it mean? Here is where it gets a little complicated. Ask me why - come on ask me why does love get complicated?
